This past weekend, we printed the second edition of “The Care and Well Being of You" a wellness brochure distributed to 500 D.C. students during 's third annual Back to School Bash!

During our summer workshop series at , we partnered with Serve Your City, Ward 6's mutual aid to create a design material that supports a community-identified need.

The project asked GBD students to apply methods of design thinking through experiential learning. By following the design thinking steps: empathize, define, brainstorm, prototype and test, students grew their understanding of the iterative design process and the importance of human-centered design. Dylan, Hannah, Morris, Nya, Sam and Treasure digitally and hand drew all of the illustrations and worked together to select the typefaces, color scheme, and layout. We met with our incredible client Miranda from SYC to understand her vision and brainstorm design ideas. The text was written by past SYC intern Hanya Pillai. Thanks to Hanya, Miranda and the whole Serve Your City team for their partnership and dedicated work in the DC
community!
