It has been one year since we opened the Satelite Digital Library, in San Salvador, in honor of Mayor Bowser’s sister city initiative!

A year later, the library has come to life with cultural programs, reading classes, and partnerships with local schools and non-profits.

We were honored to work with Architects Salo Levinas and Guillermo Altamirano and the social incubators at CREA Consultores. We look forward to watching the library continue to bloom!

Today we unite for a worldwide celebration of generosity! is an opportunity for people around the world to come together and make a difference.

MCN is proud to support Making the Grade: Hope for African Youth, a US-based non-profit that provides housing and education to youth in Ethiopia. During the current conflict, thousands of families have been displaced and need our help. If you would like to support these families, please donate here: https://makingthegrade.info/donate

To support those in need in Lebanon, our team filled a container with donated medicine, baby formula, medical supplies, diapers, and other necessary goods that just arrived in the country! The distribution is being handled by People to People Aid Corp. and our friends at Rafic Hariri Hospital. LEBANON NEEDS OUR HELP!

Major hospitals just went six days without power, and an estimated 71% of the country faces immediate food and water needs.

We’ve partnered with local organizations to facilitate a drive for necessary supplies. Scan the QR code for ways to support, including viewing our Amazon cart, dropping off supplies to our office in Georgetown or stop by Flavio Restaurant this weekend!

It was an honor and a privilege to partner with Baytna Baytak JobsforLebanon, and Basecamp Beirut to be a part of the rebuilding efforts in Beirut. Following the August blast, this team of experienced engineers, builders and grassroots organizers were able to respond quickly to the immediate needs on the ground.

With so much remaining to do in Lebanon, the work continues and we are excited about what our partnerships will accomplish this coming year.

San Salvador Digital Library 03/02/2021

Here is a video that highlights the construction as well as the faces behind the digital library in San Salvador. It was a privilege to work with people who poured their time, talent, and heart into building such a great public facility.

Our hope is that this project continues to foster dynamic collaborations between capital cities and that it honors the hardworking Salvadoran community who give so much to Washington DC.

We are so proud of the new digital library in San Salvador! Built to honor the sister-cities agreement between Washington DC and San Salvador, the library features fast fabric optic WIFI, filtered drinking water, beautiful gardens, computers and learning software, 3D printers, and thousands of books.

The incredible community spirit in Parque Satelite will always stay in our hearts, as will the special connection we created with all those responsible for making this a reality.

It has been great to pour our energy back into the library, following a long quarantine here in El Salvador. Bioclimatic architect Guillermo Altamirano has been incredible to work with, and his team redesigned the library to function with or without AC by adding windows and making the glass system completely operable.

We've planted 70 trees around the library, and the false ceiling is complete. The glass installation begins today! Thanks Guillermo Altamirano Arquitectura y Sustentabilidad
