Sometimes the whimsical things take us to places that we have abandoned in our busy adult lives. I keep this bright red bicycle in my flower garden to remind me that I can still laugh and play at times. It's good for the soul.

I call my studio "Chanticleer" after a rooster who managed to outwit a fox and save his own life. The story reminds me to be as sharp as a serpent and as harmless as a dove!

It's never too late for righting a wrong. I waited over 5 decades to straighten my smile. Was it worth it... I sure hope so. I ate corn on the cob a month ago and it was good being able to chew it like a normal person.

There is always a beginning. The wonderful thing about change is this; the middle looks somewhat different from the beginning, and the end is sometimes unbelievable! Keep pushing!

I'm BACK! After being gone for several months fulfilling other obligations I am finally able to post weekly posts which will inspire and motivate you. I look forward to seeing your comments and I am looking forward to the company!
Repose.. a state of rest or tranquility. Today, I gave myself permission to sit in the sun and to allow it to bathe me. Now, you may ask how does one "bathe" in the sun? For me it is as intentional as running a steamy bath and luxuriating in it. I headed for the nearest beach to catch the setting sun.
The air was a mixture of cool dampness and warm sunset rays. The golden horizon was ablaze with pure energy, vitamin D, and heaven kissed. As I sat there on the beach, ( in the Lifeguard chair no less) I welcomed the moment, anticipated the exchange, and leaned back. The first thing I noticed was the delicious warmth stroking my face gently. Then almost undetectable, there was a visceral response in my body which rose to met the loveliness of this sensation. My skin opened itself up, pore by pore, the fine hairs on my face shivered with the breeze, and my pulse rate surrendered its grasp on timelines, agenda's, and waiting traffic. I was on the beach, seven feet above the sand, feeling disconnected from everything. My limbs felt light, and my body became one with the sun's rays. I looked golden, I felt "golden" and tranquil; absent, blissful. After what seemed like ions, I departed my perch and walked invigorated back to my car humming and grateful, determined to look for a moment to Repose again...intentionally!
Keep this thought in mind with sons, fathers,brothers, husbands, partners, and male bosses. Knowledge is power!
Welcome 2020! Here's to the contemplating, fake resignations, and inward separations we experienced throughout 2019. Give a voice to those relationships, circumstances, and partnerships where you silently, and emotionally departed from. Give your self permission to take your body with you.
