Strengthening Academic Collaboration between Matrouh University and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)

On September 25, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Washington, D.C., facilitated a meeting between Matrouh University and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration.

The discussion focused on two key areas: Nursing, AI, and Agriculture, with both universities exploring potential avenues for cooperation, including academic programs, faculty and student exchange, capacity building, and collaborative research.

The meeting represents another step toward strengthening institutional partnerships between Egyptian and U.S. universities and creating sustainable opportunities for knowledge exchange and academic development.

في إطار جهود المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن لتعزيز الشراكات الأكاديمية والبحثية بين الجامعات المصرية والأمريكية، عُقد يوم ٢٥ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٦ اجتماع بين جامعة مطروح وجامعة فرجينيا كومنولث (VCU) لبحث فرص التعاون المشترك.

وتركزت المناقشات على مجالين رئيسيين هما التمريض والزراعة، حيث بحث الجانبان عدداً من مسارات التعاون الممكنة، بما في ذلك البرامج الأكاديمية المشتركة، وتبادل أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب، وبناء القدرات، والتعاون في مجال البحث العلمي.

تهدى القنصلية العامة لجمهورية مصر العربية في شيكاجو أطيب تحياتها إلى أبناء الجالية المصرية في ولايات وسط الغرب الأمريكي، وتتشرف بدعوة أبناء الجالية الكرام في منطقة وسط الغرب الأمريكي للقاء مع السيدة القنصل العام / هبه محمد زكى قنصل عام جمهورية مصر العربية في شيكاجو بحضور الدكتورة/ نيرمين صبري المستشار الثقافي لجمهورية مصر العربية لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية يوم الثلاثاء 13 أكتوبر 2026 من الساعة 6:30 حتى 7:30 مساء بتوقيت مدينة شيكاجو وذلك في مقر القنصلية العامة لجمهورية مصر العربية في شيكاجو 180 N Michigan Avenue كما يمكن المشاركة عبر تطبيق زووم باستخدام الرابط التالي:

On September 22, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) in Washington, D.C. held a productive meeting with representatives of NC State University to explore opportunities for expanding academic, research, and student collaboration with Egyptian universities.

The discussion covered a broad range of potential areas for cooperation, with particular emphasis on student exchange, faculty-led student visits to Egypt, study abroad and other short-term programs, sandwich Ph.D. opportunities, microcredential programs, and the development of joint and dual-degree programs.

Potential areas of academic collaboration included STEM, agriculture, tourism, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, with a focus on identifying flexible models that can create meaningful opportunities for students, faculty members, and institutions on both sides.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to learn more about GEAR GEARs, a distinctive academic, research, and cultural exchange initiative that connects motivated university students from around the world with research opportunities at universities across North Carolina. The program presents an interesting model for expanding research exposure and international engagement opportunities for Egyptian students.

ECEB looks forward to continuing the discussion with NC State University and to facilitating connections with Egyptian universities whose priorities align with the opportunities explored during the meeting.

عقد المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن، يوم ٢٢ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٦، اجتماعًا مثمرًا مع ممثلي NC State University، لبحث فرص تطوير التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي والطلابي مع الجامعات المصرية.

تناول الاجتماع مجموعة متنوعة من مجالات التعاون المحتملة، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على التبادل الطلابي، والزيارات الطلابية إلى مصر بقيادة أعضاء هيئة التدريس، وبرامج الدراسة بالخارج والبرامج الأكاديمية قصيرة المدى، وبرامج الدكتوراه بنظام الإشراف المشترك (Sandwich Ph.D.)، وبرامج الشهادات المصغرة (Microcredentials)، بالإضافة إلى تطوير برامج الدرجات المشتركة والمزدوجة.

كما شملت المناقشات عددًا من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، من بينها العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات (STEM)، والزراعة، والسياحة، والذكاء الاصطناعي، والأمن السيبراني، مع التركيز على تطوير نماذج مرنة توفر فرصًا حقيقية للطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والمؤسسات من الجانبين.

وتضمن اللقاء كذلك التعرف على برنامج GEAR GEARs، باعتباره نموذجًا متميزًا للتبادل الأكاديمي والبحثي والثقافي، يتيح للطلاب الجامعيين من مختلف دول العالم فرص المشاركة في أنشطة بحثية أكاديمية بجامعات ولاية نورث كارولاينا، بما يمكن أن يفتح آفاقًا جديدة لتعزيز الخبرات البحثية والدولية للطلاب المصريين.

On September 14, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) facilitated a meeting between Mansoura University and Northeastern University to discuss opportunities for developing academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The meeting enabled both universities to exchange perspectives on their academic priorities and explore potential areas for joint research, academic programs, faculty and student mobility, training and capacity building, and other areas of mutual interest.

The discussion is part of ECEB’s continued efforts to create direct institutional connections between Egyptian universities and leading U.S. academic institutions and to support the development of sustainable partnerships.



في ١٤ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٦، قام المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن بتنسيق اجتماع بين جامعة المنصورة وجامعة نورث إيسترن (Northeastern University) لبحث فرص تطوير التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي بين المؤسستين.

أتاح اللقاء للجامعتين تبادل الرؤى حول أولوياتهما الأكاديمية، وبحث فرص البحث العلمي المشترك، والبرامج الأكاديمية، وتبادل الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس، والتدريب وبناء القدرات، وغيرها من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

ويأتي الاجتماع ضمن جهود المكتب المستمرة لبناء روابط مباشرة بين الجامعات المصرية والمؤسسات الأكاديمية الأمريكية ودعم تطوير شراكات مؤسسية مستدامة.

On September 28, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) in Washington, D.C., held a meeting with James Madison University (JMU) to continue discussions on expanding academic and educational cooperation with Egyptian institutions, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, digital safety, privacy, and responsible artificial intelligence.

During the meeting, JMU presented its “Egypt–JMU Cybersecurity and Responsible AI Skills Initiative.”

عقد المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن، في ٢٨ سبتمبر ٢٠٢٦، اجتماعًا مع جامعة جيمس ماديسون (James Madison University – JMU)، لمواصلة بحث فرص توسيع التعاون الأكاديمي والتعليمي مع المؤسسات المصرية، مع التركيز على الأمن السيبراني، والسلامة الرقمية، والخصوصية، والاستخدام المسؤول للذكاء الاصطناعي.

كما تناول الاجتماع الخطوات القادمة لتحديد المؤسسات المصرية الشريكة ومجالات الأولوية، تمهيدًا لوضع إطار عملي للتنفيذ وبحث فرص التمويل المشترك للمبادرة.
