🌟 Excellence Through Opportunity | CRESP Update 🌟

Over the past 3 weeks, the ETO CRESP Team and Partners had the incredible opportunity to participate in the DC Department of Employment Services' CRESP Parent and Scholars Orientation — and what an experience it was!

We had the pleasure of meeting and greeting hundreds of parents from across the District, sharing exciting details about what's in store for our young scholars this summer.

This summer, the ETO Summer Career Ready Early Scholars Program will immerse young people in powerful STEM pathways, including:
🔧 Utility & Construction
🚲 Bikes & Technology
☀️ Renewable & Sustainable Energy
..along with a full range of social engagement supports designed to help our scholars grow, connect, and thrive — inside and outside the classroom.

This summer is going to be a BLAST! 🎉

📍 ETO CRESP kicks off June 29th at Cesar Chavez Public Charter School!

Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to an unforgettable summer of learning, leadership, and limitless possibility! 🙌🏾

Gratitude is flowing today! A heartfelt THANK YOU to Lynnette Fellows, Registered Nurse, for facilitating our American Heart Association Heart Saver Training! 🏥

From CPR and AED to First Aid and so much more — Lynnette equipped our ETO Career Ready Early Scholars Program staff and partners with the life-saving skills we need as we prepare for summer youth programming. Being ready for any emergency that may arise is not just a responsibility — it's a commitment to our scholars and their safety.

We also want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Keith Jackson, Manager of Trek Bike Shop, for graciously opening up the facility so we could make this training happen! Your support means everything. 🚲

When a village comes together, amazing things happen!

Book Announcement

"Hey everyone, I'm Carletta Fellows — author, and believer in the power of every little girl. I wrote The Queen I See in Me because I wanted children to look in the mirror and see exactly what I see — royalty. It's a self-affirmation and empowerment book filled with love, confidence, and the reminder that she is enough, she is a leader, and she is a queen. Whether you're a parent, a teacher, or someone who loves a little girl in your life, this book was made for her. You can grab your copy on Amazon in paperback or e-book. Go check it out — and remember, the queen in her is waiting to shine!"

This story has been a labor of love since 2017 — years of dreaming, writing, imagining, and pouring my heart into every page. The Queen I See in Me is a celebration of confidence, courage, and the magic that lives inside every child. It’s a gentle reminder to look in the mirror and see the strength, beauty, and royalty that’s already there. 💖✨

To everyone who encouraged me, cheered me on, and believed in this vision — THANK YOU. This moment is a dream fulfilled, and I am so excited to share it with you and your little queens! 👑❤️

The boxes have arrived… and they did not come quietly. 📦
They showed up like summer itself, bold and ready.

Today we received the official t-shirts for our scholars participating in the DC DOES ETO Summer Career Ready Early Scholars Program and the DC DOEE ETO-DC Bike Academy Youth Bike Clinic!

These are not just shirts. They are uniforms of purpose.
They represent:
✔ Career exploration
✔ Workforce readiness
✔ Environmental stewardship
✔ Confidence in motion

When our scholars put these on, they are stepping into opportunity. Whether they are sharpening career skills or mastering bike safety and mechanics, they are doing it with pride and community wrapped around them.

Thank you to our partners, families, and supporters who make this possible. We cannot wait to see our scholars wearing these shirts across the city, learning, riding, and leading. 🚴🏾‍♀️

Summer at Excellence Through Opportunity is officially in full color.
