We are thrilled to highlight our incredible partnership with Nucor through the Nucor Reads program! 📚✨

Once a month, volunteers from Nucor visit our school to read aloud to our Kindergarten classrooms. They bring stories to life, foster a love for literacy, and show our youngest learners how inspiring reading can be. To make the experience even sweeter, Nucor generously gifts a brand-new book to every single Kindergartner to take home and keep for their personal home library!

Building strong readers takes a community, and we are so grateful for Nucor’s commitment to empowering our students, supporting early literacy, and inspiring the next generation of lifelong learners. Thank you, Nucor, for being such a wonderful partner! 💙

🍎 **Happy Sunday, GCLE Families!** 📚

We had a fantastic start to our school year and loved seeing so many smiling faces! Here is a quick recap of what we've been up to and what’s coming up next:

✨ **Building Our School Community**

* **Routine & Safety:** Our students did a wonderful job practicing our expectations and procedures for all common areas and school buses.
* **Community Morning Meeting:** We held our very first school-wide Morning Meeting with all of our students! It was amazing to gather together, build connections, and start our day on a positive note.

📝 **Upcoming i-Ready Testing**

* **This Week:** 1st and 2nd graders will be taking their i-Ready assessments.
* **Next Week:** Kindergarteners will take their i-Ready assessments.

> *Tip: Please help your child get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast so they feel ready to do their best!*
