We had some questions about sign ups for pitch ins (and we are really excited that everyone is eager to support teachers and staff!)

To those of you helping to stock the pantry for our community, THANK YOU!

As a reminder, this is for non perishable food ONLY. We implore you not to use this as a drop off space. Please take those items to Goodwill.

We want to continue to support our community, but please respect the pantry as volunteers don’t have the time to drop off other donations to the appropriate places.

Stop by the PTO table at Back to School Night on August 6th! We have calendars with events for the year and a little treat for students.

You can also visit Northern Indiana Graphics to grab some new Washington STEM Academy Spirit Wear.

We know you're likely cleaning out items right now in anticipation of back to school and that is a good time to drop off donations for the Washington Wardrobe and Community Pantry.

A few notes about donations:

As a friendly reminder, we accept gently used clothes and shoes in the pantry and NEW underwear and socks for boys and girls, all sizes. Stay tuned for our more urgent needs.

The pantry is always in need of non-perishable food and hygiene items. This is NOT a place to just drop all kinds of items. It's disrespectful to the volunteers that run it and it makes it difficult for us to provide what is needed. Clothes go to the office for the Wardrobe, books can go in the free little library and we encourage you to donate toys and other items to Goodwill or Combined Community Services.

We are ready for another year and look forward to serving our teachers, staff, and students.

Community Pantry Reminders:

1. We are in need of donations like hygiene items and non perishable foods. PLEASE DO NOT DONATE OTHER ITEMS. This is a designated space for food and hygiene supplies. Please contact other organizations about toys and please hold onto clothes, which can be accepted in the office for our Washington Wardrobe once school starts.

2. Because school starts next month, if you would like to leave new school supplies, those will be helpful to families that can't make it to other events to get school supplies.

3. Please only take what you need. Several times the pantry has been emptied immediately. This isn't fair to others in the community that also need to use these items. Please take only what you need and we will work to get more continuous donations.

We appreciate everyone's help and support of the pantry.
