Fit check and fabric choices… But please pay zero attention to my outfit.
Let's Bee Makers
Teaching sewing and needle arts with a focus on sustainability and empowering all makers.
Private lessons available, watch this space for handmade goods and more news
and for a in a week? Yup.
Let’s wash the components first shall we?
I put things in their place and believe it or not there was a clean surface under all of that stuff… and then I got ALL of my works in progress out and made a giant . YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS. It was a doozy.
So I’m making it smaller.
First, I wrote it all down into 3 lists in the reminders app. Even though I had lists already. We’ll handle those another time.
Then, I took the pieces I wasn’t excited about anymore and I let them go. I have a pouf for my younger child in the project queue and they hold a LOT.
Imagine my eyeballs are looking right at your eyeballs and hear me in my kindest voice: Letting go of projects does not make you a failure. It’s not a waste of fabric. Release them into the world with fabric recycling, or stuff a pouf or a dog bed or something. Do not let the should monster steal your sewing joy.
This is your permission slip. Let it go.
Changing seasons, always make me want to tidy and make room for the things that are coming next… Wyche hopefully in this case includes some sewing time. So welcome to my new series, where I invite you to join me with small tasks that have made a big difference… today it’s patterns- getting them off my sewing table, and into storage. What small tasks do you find to be satisfying or challenging?
A whole big Winter/Spring project dump. Not a lot of sewing after shoulder surgery- but I’m back! Hopefully! Watch this space for lesson slots opening soon, and plenty of fabric folding and studio cleanup and some works in progress that want to make it to completion.

Have you ever been to a bee? A space where a group of folks work together to get a thing done? It's a sight to behold, and something we often associate with quilting- but even today the wisdom and community in those circles is something to treasure. So we focus on community- on learning and on sustainability. On making connections and making lasting impressions and knowing we can do the things.
