Today was bittersweet for me as I officially retired after 28 years of service at Pearl Stephens Elementary.
I would like to thank my wonderful faculty and staff for supporting me and helping to carry out the vision and mission of our school.
I would also like to thank my students, parents, and school community for all of the love and support shown as we worked together to strengthen the home-school connection.
Finally, I am grateful to the Houston County school board for their loyal support and allow allowing me to serve as Principal at Pearl Stephens Elementary. I will forever continue to advocate on behalf of the students of Houston County.
Forever Grateful,
Gloria Smith

Ms. Malaska’s and Mrs. Alexander’s students enjoyed making self-portrait t-shirts to remember their fabulous year in third grade! Such a fun way to celebrate all the memories, friendships, and learning from this amazing school year.

The Houston County School Nutrition Program will continue operations this summer, offering meals free of charge to children ages 18 and under. Children do not need to be enrolled in the Houston County School District to receive meals.
There will be three ways for families to participate in the Summer Meals Program. Daily walk-in meal service will be provided at two school locations, vans will serve meals in eligible neighborhoods, and three sites will offer a weekly meal pack pick up service.
For more information including dates, times, locations and questions, visit www.hcbe.net/snpsummermeals.
