My kids and I almost died in a house fire. The next morning, I still had to hold everything together.

Three boys. Clients waiting. A house to rebuild. A body running on empty. And grief I still hadn’t been given a moment to feel. 😭

You spent $600 on ads and got two leads who ghosted you. 😭

Now every time you open the dashboard your chest gets tight. You’re hot. You’re aggravated. Everybody online says ads work, so what is wrong with you?

Nothing. Your ad is the problem, and it’s not your fault. You wrote it to sound legit. Professional. Like a real company. And your customer read it and felt nothing.

I just rewrote an ad for a client that said “full-service solutions for every need.” Changed it to “we show up on time and fix it the first time.” Same budget. Same audience. More calls that week than the whole month before. 🔑

Your customer isn’t looking for a company. They’re looking for someone who gets it.

Swipe for the before and after. Then read your own ad out loud. If you wouldn’t say it to a customer’s face, delete it. 👉

If you’re losing sleep over money you already spent, don’t spend another dollar until you have a plan. I use a military planning format called an OPORD to map out exactly who the ad is for, what it promises, and what happens after they click. I made a free version for business owners. I'm finally sleeping in my own bed after almost two years. But the real story isn't about the walls.

For 12 months, my house stood in studs. Nothing moved. No progress. Just desperation, frustration, every emotion you can name.

The fire took my house. The waiting took my patience. But somewhere in that standstill, I had to heal to rise.

19 months passed before the walls looked like a home again. 5 months ago they finally went up.

But here's what I learned in those long months of nothing: Who you are doesn't depend on visible progress. You don't wait for the walls to be finished to become whole.

I still showed up for my clients. Still ran my business. Still knew what I stood for—even when I was living in survival mode, in boxes, in the unknown.
