How do you get audio to speakers in a hotel lobby without running long cables through the event space?

NextGen AV Tech used the RF Venue RF PA Extension Kit.

For the South Asian Bridal Expo at the Houston Marriott Sugar Land, the team needed to extend audio into the lobby without creating trip hazards or taking away from the look of the event. The RF PA Extension Kit gave them a simple way to connect the lobby speakers wirelessly and get the system up and running quickly.

They’ve also used the RF PA Extension Kit for outfill speakers at the Ismaili Center’s Black Box Theater and at an outdoor courtyard event with 16 wireless handheld microphones, wireless cameras, LED walls, IMAG and communications systems.

As NextGen AV Tech owner Shabaz Gillani said, the kit “performed spectacularly” and “did not disappoint.”

Check out the full case study to see how they’re using the RF PA Extension Kit across different events and venues.

Nine dropouts versus zero in a 30-minute backyard test. See how RF Venue’s Diversity Fin performed against a pair of traditional paddle antennas, with a golden retriever putting the wireless transmitter through its paces.

In this video, we show how changing the orientation of a wireless microphone can affect signal strength, and how the Diversity Fin’s two antenna orientations help maintain reception as the transmitter moves and rotates.

Then, we put both receiver systems to the test with a transmitter attached to a dog chasing a Frisbee. The paddle antenna setup recorded nine dropouts, while the Diversity Fin recorded zero.

A fun test that also shows why antenna polarization matters for wireless microphone reliability and why antenna choice matters when performers are on the move.

What does it really cost to get reliable audio to every speaker location?

It’s easy to look at the cost of the cable and stop there. But the cable itself may not be the biggest cost. The path to the speaker is.

Cable runs can also mean conduit, building access, lifts, termination, testing, additional trades, and building modifications. And when you have multiple remote speakers, those costs can add up quickly.

Our latest blog takes a closer look at the total installed cost and how the RF PA Extension Kit can help simplify difficult or expensive speaker deployments.

The goal isn’t simply to eliminate cable. It’s to get reliable audio where it needs to go with less infrastructure, less labor, and less disruption.

A big thank you to ProSoundWeb for putting the RF Venue Diversity Fin IPX through a real-world road test.

The Diversity Fin IPX was tested in several production environments, including an arena and performing arts theater, looking at coverage, reliability, and overall performance.

We appreciate ProSoundWeb taking the time to put it to the test and share their experience.

Simplify your wireless IEM setup with the RF Venue COMBINE8.

The COMBINE8 combines up to eight IEM transmitter signals into a single, more powerful transmit antenna, helping eliminate the need for multiple antennas and reducing unwanted intermodulation.

Wireless IEM dropouts aren’t always caused by the equipment itself.

Reliable IEM performance comes down to the entire system, from frequency coordination and antenna placement to RF signal paths, transmitter settings, and how the system is tested before showtime.

Our latest blog breaks down 6 key areas to look at when building a more reliable IEM system, plus practical tips for preparing for things that can go wrong.

If your IEM system isn’t performing as consistently as it should, this is a good place to start.

Need to get audio into another room or across an outdoor space without running long XLR cables?

In this walkthrough, we show how the RF Venue RF-PA Extension Kit sends audio from one source to two remote powered speakers, including an indoor speaker and an outdoor battery-powered speaker.

We’ll walk through the setup, from connecting the transmitter and receivers to using the built-in delay to help time-align a remote speaker with the main PA.

A simple way to get audio where you need it, with more flexibility and less cable.

Wireless IEMs have come a long way.

When the technology first appeared in the late 1980s, wireless IEM systems were expensive and largely limited to major touring artists. Today, they’re used across live sound, broadcast, houses of worship, and local venues.

In our latest blog, Richard Stockton takes a look at how wireless IEM technology has evolved, from early analog systems and custom earpieces to today’s digital systems, improved latency, RF coordination, and personal mix control.

With 30 years of experience in audio engineering and RF, Richard also shares firsthand insight into how performers and engineers adapted to this changing approach to monitoring.

Wireless Dropouts Aren’t Random.

Here’s how to stop them.

Wireless dropouts aren’t simply bad luck. They typically have identifiable causes that can be addressed before showtime.

Inside the guide, you’ll learn:

• The five primary causes of wireless dropouts
• How RF interference, multipath, and polarization affect performance
• Best practices for antenna selection, placement, and spacing
• Why frequency coordination requires more than finding an open channel
• How spectrum analysis and interference filtering help prevent problems
• Practical tips for coax cables, transmitter power, bodypacks, and batteries

Want to learn how to prevent wireless audio dropouts before they happen?

Thinking about making the switch from stage wedges to in-ear monitors?

There’s more to it than just changing what performers hear.

In this clip from RF Venue’s “Setting Up In-Ear Monitor Systems (IEMs)” webinar, Senior Applications Engineer Don Boomer walks through some of the practical benefits of IEMs, from having less equipment and cable clutter on stage to reducing stage volume and feedback.

And because there’s less monitor sound on stage, it can also make it easier for the sound engineer to build a cleaner mix, especially for live streams.

Watch the clip to hear Don break it down.
