Since my firstborn was old enough to hold a pencil, she and I have been crafting and creating in one form or another. Emma and I have spent hours sitting at a craft table making some very special memories. When Izzy joined the fold, she and I created new treasures and new memories. Tonight my niece Lex, Izzy and I made our family stuffing recipe and Livie filled many bud vases with tiny flowers. She joked that I gave the job to the AR in the family and I smiled. This Thanksgiving I am grateful to have passed down a family recipe to two of the littles and my love of making beautiful things to the oldest little. No matter what is going on in our lives, there is always something to be grateful for. This year I am grateful for my night with the littles....all who are not so little anymore, but will always be so in my heart.

My mom passed along my great grandmother's costume jewelry and asked me to make something special. Repurposing and making special antique key necklaces for all the special women who loved Dahla. Such a fun task.

I have a beautiful desk to work from, but love sitting at my big dining table planning our next adventure instead.

My favorite party contribution is a cheese plate. Over the years my platters have grown to this giant board. Multiple cheeses, salami, fruit, and a variety of crackers and nuts as well as fruit paste and honey, make it a meal on a board. This board came from the Magnolia website---Chip and Joanna Gaines website for those of you who love Fixer Upper.

I am going to take My Daughters Table in a new directions because I find myself headed in a new direction. I am planning to post daily as my new adventures unfold and continue to change.
Asked more often recently to create table decor for a variety of events, and planning for my holiday tables has me inspired to not only share my photos, but to ask my friends and family to share their own designs. The holidays are my favorite time of the year--my husband is at his best when creating the wonderful meals we copiously plan, and I spend more time than I should trying to be creative at my round table. Cutler and I love nothing more than feeding people and it seems more enjoyable around a beautiful table. My greatest joy/accomplishment/stress this year was doing all the florals for Barbs wedding in Park City--including her bouquet (that had my stomach in knots).
I also find myself doing more tutoring/mentoring/editing in recent weeks. It has been my honor to work with a broad spectrum of students ranging in age from 12-50. From tutoring in english and social studies, to reading college application essays, to serving as reader/editor on two books, I find myself back doing what I love most--playing with language and working with students. It is my plan to let this recent flurry in activity serve as a spring board to more potential work. I recently had the opportunity to help a high school grad take her common application essay from something she was unsure of, to a paper she was proud to submit. I look forward to expanding my client base to any and all who are either a student in need of a reader, or the parent of a student who might benefit from some extra help--and my rates are very competitive!
So today is day one! I look forward to sharing and I am so thrilled to see what others will share with me.

Newest floral rage is cotton. Love how clean and fresh and natural it is. Look for wreaths and floral arrangements featuring cotton coming next month!

My favorite wreath of the year and it happened to be the 30th and final one I made. Next year I will start this craziness in September!
