Spots for The Lift are limited, and they're moving.

This isn't a typical workout. It's 90 minutes of strength training built around choice, not pressure. No experience required, just a willingness to show up.

Every registration funds TIWL's mission to make trauma-informed strength training accessible to more people.

August 28-30. In person and virtual.

At The Lift Event, everyone around you understands what it means to have a complicated relationship with your body. You don't have to explain it here. You just get to move.

If you've been looking for people who get this without you having to say a word, this is for you.

❌ We don’t comment on your body. Period.

Listen, getting to the gym is already hard enough. The last thing you need is to have your body commented on. There are so many references to body parts that are meant to shame. There are also intended compliments gone wrong.

Your intention may not be the impact you have on another person because we all have different lived experiences around our bodies.

We won’t be perfect, because who is…..but we keep language top of mind. This is one of the ways we are a safe(r) space than many. Our focus isn’t strictly on how we train, but also how people really feel when they walk into our space.

Lots of new faces here on the TIWL pages, and we want to say 'hey there đź‘‹".

There are 2 ways to be part of TIWL this season.

➡️ The Lift, our national fundraising event, runs August 28-30 across multiple locations. It's simple: come move together, in community, for something bigger than any one workout. Every dollar raised through our GiveButter page goes toward accessibility, practitioner education, certification opportunities, scholarships, and growing TIWL in more places.

➡️ If you're a practitioner ready to bring trauma-informed principles into your own work, our Fall Certification cohort opens August 26. It's a 10-week program, fully online, with live sessions every Wednesday (4 PM PT / 7 PM ET) alongside other practitioners doing this work. You'll learn how trauma shows up in the body, how to hold space with real clinical grounding, and how to work alongside other health professionals with a shared language. Scholarships are available, and spots are limited.

Whether you're lifting with us for a weekend or training with us for a season, there's a place for you here.

Certificate applications close this Friday!

Strength coaching is shifting, and it's the coaches paying attention to more than reps and sets who are leading that shift. Trauma-informed coaching isn't a niche anymore, it's becoming part of how the field trains people, period.

TIWL certification teaches you to coach strength as a relationship, not a performance: a framework rooted in trust and choice, connected to real practitioners, and a community of coaches who train people differently, together.

If you're a coach, clinician, or practitioner who's felt the gap between traditional fitness culture and the people you actually work with, this is where you close it.

Applications close Friday, August 21. Link in bio to apply.

Some days "heavy" isn't what the plan said it would be.

I walked in ready to lift for 45 minutes. My body had other plans after last night's run. So instead of pushing through it, I stayed present and called it enough.

That's the actual practice in trauma-informed weight lifting. Strength is noticing what's true in your body that day and working with it instead of against it.

That's the kind of shift we teach in the TIWL Certificate Training Program.

Some conversations stay with you long after they end.

Our previous CFTE Roundtable brought together public health professionals, trauma care experts, mental health providers, and advocacy leaders for a thoughtful conversation on trauma, embodiment, healing, and community.

If you missed it or want to revisit the discussion, you can now watch the full roundtable on the CFTE YouTube channel.
