Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waco. We are committed to practicing the UU Fellowship of Waco's Core Values of Compassion, Inclusion, Spiritual Growth, Inquiry, and Celebration, but you don't have to be UU to come! SpectrUUm has three main goals:
1. Community: safe space to meet other LGBTQ+ and
allied people, express orientation and gender identity without fear, safe for students whose high schools have no Gay-Straight Alliance or similar organization (no alcohol at meetings, please)
2. Learning: access to discussion/resources about the spectra of gender identity and sexual orientation, LGBTQ+ history, current legal policy, q***r and q***r-friendly organizations and events in the area
3. Social action: raise awareness of charities and organizations doing positive work for LGBTQ+ people, especially at the local and state level, help efforts such as Central Texas Metropolitan Community Church's Red Door Pantry
