Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I find myself reflecting on what an incredible journey my career has been. For decades, I’ve had the privilege of traveling across the country, speaking at state and national conferences, and working alongside the most dedicated professionals in long-term care. Your support, encouragement, and friendship have meant more to me than words can express.
After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision that 2026 will be my final year of a full schedule of in-person conference presentations and trainings. While I will continue offering virtual education programs into the foreseeable future, this year marks the close of an unforgettable chapter in my professional speaking career.
I want to personally thank each of you - the associations, organizations, companies, and individuals - who have invited me into your programs year after year. It has truly been an honor to share education, laughter, and learning with so many of you who care so deeply for our residents and teams.
This decision has not been an easy one, but it comes with deep gratitude and appreciation for the countless memories, meaningful connections, and shared commitment to improving the lives of those we serve.
Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your conferences, associations, and professional journeys. I look forward to spending this year celebrating, teaching, and saying “see you soon” - not “goodbye.”

NCCAP Approved Virtual Seminar: "Survey Ready ALL the Time: Compliance for Activity/Recreation Professionals." Six (6) hours of continuing education.

In this session, Cat will be offering an intensive training on survey compliance. She participated in the CMS Expert Panel that developed the current Activity Requirements, and much of the Surveyor Guidance that is now included in the CMS RoP. She has trained providers and surveyors in all 50 states on "Surveying Activities," and is considered an authority in aging services and regulatory compliance.

Hey to all my Activity Professional friends! I need some help/assistance again. I am putting together a session/presentation on how to motivate residents to come out of their rooms for activity offerings post COVID. A number of associations are sharing how difficult this challenge has become and have requested some guidance/suggestions. So....I would like to include effective/successful strategies that you have tried. If you don't mind sharing, please comment below with your strategy/technique.
