Learning How to Love While Being Divorced

This past Saturday, my husband moved out. While it was so very hard, I was so proud of the kindness, dignity, & love I have shown this man since September when he told me of his affair. This isn’t easy, but I have hope for pain free days. How long did it take you to feel like you again?

I'm struggling this week. My husband is treating me poorly, and I just don't understand why. He is already leaving me, why treat me poorly too?

Today of all things, our kitchen everything drawer made me have complex emotions… I organize it every three months or so but my husband throws everything in, and it never stays organized. When he leaves, this drawer will stay organized. Feels almost painful. All because I opened a drawer! Has anyone experienced complex emotions over an everyday thing too during a divorce?

I still love my husband even though he is divorcing me. Every time I get angry, I remind myself to choose love. Every time I get frustrated, I remind myself to choose love again. While he does benefit,, this isn't for his sake, it's for mine. I need love to be the default, for my sake, my son's sake, and my husband's sake. How have you chosen to love in your divorce?

Last weekend was my birthday, and my husband bought me numerous small gifts because he knows it's important to me, especially after not getting me a gift for Christmas. I'm the mother of his son - I hope he always buys me a birthday gift! Friendship IS possible.
