Joining the PTA allows you to voice issues that affect your child at home, school and in the community. With PTA your ideas and concerns are able to better share them with other parents, teachers, school administrators and community leaders. Membership in PTA also gives you access to resources and tools to help support your child in education, the arts, health and safety and in the community. Lark

We are encouraging everyone throughout VBCPS to wear purple on Wednesday, April 20, as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military as we celebrate April as the month of the Military Child.

Partnering with The Supply Room, IGT, NeoPollard Interactive, and the Virginia PTA, the Virginia Lottery invites people to thank as many public school teachers as possible in conjunction with National Teacher Appreciation Week in May!
Take part in the Lottery’s seventh annual Thank a Teacher campaign by visiting thankateacherva.com now through May 6 and sending a digital thank-you note right from the comfort of your home.
Teachers will receive the notes during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2 - 6. Qualifying teachers can use a unique code included in the digital note to enter a drawing for a chance to win a memorable Virginia vacation and a gift card courtesy of the Virginia Lottery and its partners, IGT and NeoPollard Interactive, and $2,500 in supplies from The Supply Room. Four lucky teachers will win!
Each digital note will showcase one of the winning designs from the Lottery’s annual Thank a Teacher Art Contest. The Lottery received several hundred entries and selected one each from the elementary, middle and high school levels:
