The result is injury, chronic pain and stress, the inability to manage a heal

Bindu Manifesto: Ancient Practices for Modern Wellness
Manifesto #2 - Sustainability - we make choices in our movement, health, and relationships that can be easily maintained and fit into the flow of our lifestyle. We don't push or overexert ourselves physically, mentally, or spiritually. We also don't play small or let go of strategies that that enhace our well-being. We value our energy as precious life force and relax and rest as needed. We also expand sustainablity efforts into managing our energy in relationships and how we utilize resources and goods in the environment.

Bindu Manifesto: Ancient Practices for Modern Wellness

Manifesto #1: Presence (not perfection) – through the techniques learned in yoga, meditation, and psychological principles, we actively choose to apply presence to our movement patterns (when exercising and in daily movement). Overtime, the presence learned through physical movement starts to merge into other areas of life including food choices and eating, communication in relationships, how we spend our time, and conscious choices in the larger environment.

Day-to-day stress and lack of mindfulness causes lack of connection to our bodies, feelings of depression, anxiety, and isolation. When we are checked out during exercise, we aren’t in tune with proper body alignment, our breathing, or whether we are pushing too far (or not working hard enough). The result is injury, chronic pain and stress, the inability to manage a healthy body weight, and depression and anxiety over our physical appearance (and mental state).

Bindu is about presence, sustainability, and quiet. Bindu Wellness combines aspects of yoga, meditation, psychology, nutrition, and therapeutic movement to enhance your life – at the cellular level, physical level, and in your relationships and work. About a year ago I closed The Yoga Room (my studio in Norfolk) to have more freedom and work with people in a more conscious and centered way. After much contemplation, I came up with the name "Bindu Wellness." What does Bindu mean? Bindu is a Sanskrit word meaning "point;" it is the transition point from duality to pure consciousness. In other words ~ you are not alone, we are all in this together ~ and when you take on meditation, you learn how to decrease dualistic thinking and move into a place of silence and inner intelligence. Stay tuned, I will use this page as a platform to share more ~ xo, Diane
