There’s something special about being in a room with passionate early childhood professionals who are all working toward the same goal—supporting children, families, and the educators who make it all happen every day.

It was wonderful to connect in person with teammates, colleagues, and so many dedicated providers from across Virginia. The conversations, shared ideas, and energy in the sessions were truly inspiring.

Initiatives like the Virginia Child Care Substitute Hub (VASubHub) are an important step toward strengthening the workforce and supporting programs so they can continue serving children and families.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Virginia Child Care Substitute Hub, or VASubHub- Virginia’s first-ever VDOE-approved Child Care Substitute Pool pilot!

Staffing shortages shouldn't mean closed classrooms or stressed-out educators. We’ve built a community-driven solution to keep our early learning programs running smoothly in the Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, and Petersburg areas.

What is VASubHub?

✅ A lifeline for providers to prevent classroom closures.
✅ A flexible new career path for educators, retirees, and students.
