Thank you to the Virginia Chapter, American College of Surgeons .virginia members for leading an awesome, hands-on event for our HSA students. They were able to practice suturing and laparoscopic skills, and more. We are incredibly grateful for this unique learning experience!

Dr. Adam Longwater, an Emergency Medicine Physician, who practices at the Emergency Department at Sentara Independence, spoke with HSA students about his journey into medicine and about the fast paced world of Emergency Medicine. He also provided great encouragement and advice for our future health care professionals. Thank you, Dr. Longwater for the practical advice and sharing your stories with our students!
