You know I love a good metaphor! In this conversation, Amy compares the unpredictable change that's happening right now to hitting a patch of ice while you're driving. She explains that we have to resist the human reflex to slam on the brakes and instead steer into the ice.
It's the perfect metaphor because that out-of-control spin-y feeling is exactly how most of us feel right now.
I think you're going to really love her take on the world, the three trends that make up the current "super cycle" of change (AI, wearable technology, and biotechnology), and the need to increase our capacity for uncertainty (ugh).

As you begin the week, pause for a moment to think about all of the things in your life that you're truly grateful for. Allow yourself to really feel it and continue your day with a grateful heart.
I would love to know one thing you are grateful for. Today, I'm especially grateful for my daily walks in nature.

About your Facilitator, Rhyena Halpern
As an End of Life Doula, Rhyena holds the space as people and their loved ones intentionally plan for their death. She helps people create an end of life plan, do life review and legacy work, update their final wishes and documents, and serves as emotional support through their final days of living while dying. Her role is one of compassionate, non-medical support. While advocating for their wishes, she provides information on home funerals, rituals and green burials. She also leads death cafes, writes and teaches on death and dying.

Monthly Virtual Death Cafe with EKR Foundation
Monthly, Second & Fourth Tuesdays
10:00 AM – 11:30 am PST
At a Death Café, people gather to discuss death. Death Café offers everyone a chance to share ideas, opinions, and questions about death in a supportive and safe environment. There is no agenda, no teachers, books or films, this is a discussion group, not a grief support or counseling session. This is also not an opportunity to sell goods nor services. This is an opportunity to consider ideas, your own and others, and an opportunity to share things you may not have other opportunities to share, and to deeply listen to others as they share their experiences about death, dying, loss and grief.
Participation is free, but registration is required.
