Motivation doesn’t just show up when you need it.

It’s built every time you choose action over excuses, discipline over doubt, and purpose over comfort.

Most people wait for the right mood to start.

BUT winners start, and let action create the mood.

If you want to grow, stop chasing motivation. Start building discipline.

Last night, I almost didn’t go.

The plan was simple: Netflix, pajamas, maybe some leftovers and a quiet night in. Honestly, I was tired. It’s been that kind of week. The kind where everything feels a little heavier and the couch feels like the safest place on earth.

But something in me said, go anyway.

I showed up to an event called Changing Seasons. I wasn’t the only one running on empty, you could feel it in the room. A quiet kind of weariness. And yet, it turned out to be exactly the message I needed to hear.

Ruth's story was raw. Honest. Messy in the most beautiful way.

She reminded me of something I forget more often than I’d like to admit: We don’t get to control everything. Our mess makes room for others to share theirs. And there is beauty in the imperfect.

The push I took home? To let go. To stay open. To accept that growth rarely comes wrapped in comfort.

Because honestly, every meaningful thing in my life, the things that truly changed me, started in a place of discomfort.

Walking away from what was easy. Saying yes when no felt safer. Trusting something I couldn’t see yet.

Maybe this is your sign too! ⬇️
- To stop sitting in safety.
- To stop playing small.

Because the next stage, the one that really matters, doesn’t live in comfort.

You’re capable. You’re qualified. You’re showing up…

So why does it still feel like you’re not leading at the level you know you could?

You might be underleading.

Not because you lack skill, but because of what you’ve been taught to believe about leadership.

Here are 4 reasons your leadership might be underleading (and how to fix it):
1. You’re managing tasks, not casting vision - You’re not inspiring people around a shared purpose. You’re operating more like a high-performing manager than an influential leader. Great leaders mobilize, they don’t just maintain.

2. You’re waiting for permission - You don’t speak unless you’re asked. You hold back on bold ideas because you don’t want to overstep. Real leadership is claimed, not assigned.

3. You’re prioritizing being liked over being respected - You're thoughtful. Kind. Collaborative. But not at the cost of your voice, clarity, or boundaries. Likability may open the door, but respect keeps you in the room.

4. You’re relying on the title, not building a leadership brand - You have the role, the resume, and the results. But are you leading in a way that transcends your title? If your influence ends at your title, you haven’t built a brand, just a position.

Even high-achieving leaders unintentionally underlead when they:
- Dim their voice to stay safe
- Confuse doing more with leading more
- Avoid visibility because they fear judgment
- Lead from obligation, not ownership
