Jonathan graduated from high school this past May as an honor graduate. Soon after graduation, he reached out to me for help. He had done everything he was โsupposedโ to do academically, but like so many young people, he had reached graduation without clarity about his next step.
College had been encouraged, but Jonathan didnโt know what he wanted to study, or whether enrolling without a clear direction was the right choice.
Through a personalized experience with CLRโs Arkansas Construction Exposure Academy, Jonathan had the opportunity to discover his strengths, explore career options, and create his Career Action Plan.
Today, Jonathan has a clear career path in the construction industry. He has already started working in the field, and tomorrow he will begin his first day as a student at UALR to earn a bachelorโs degree in construction management.
The university gains another bright, motivated student. The construction industry gains a highly qualified young person ready to learn, work, and grow. Arkansas gains another hardworking young person contributing to our workforce and economy. Most importantly, Jonathan is on his way to achieving his American Dream!
A special thank you to Dr. Hank Bray, Department Chair at UALR Department of Construction Management & Civil and Construction Engineering, and KINCO Constructors for partnering with CLR to create opportunities for young people like Jonathan. It takes education, industry, and workforce partners working together to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity!
