With all the opportunities of free continued education online and a decrease in attendance, we the committee want to announce that our annual EMS seminar in January will no longer be. We have had numerous meetings and discussions with Darke County EMS Chiefs and want to try something new, possibly a couple hour(s) trainings through out the year while searching for a new site as well. please bare with us during this new transition and we will keep you all posted. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving 🍁

Final preparations are being made. Tomorrow morning these seats will be filled with EMS providers from VEMS and numerous other surrounding agencies for Advanced Stroke Life Support. A full day of training on the recognition and treatment of strokes. Strokes are the leading cause of disability in the US, early recognition and treatment are key to reducing both disability and mortality.

Thanks to all of our sponsors this training is being provided at no cost to the department or providers.

On this day... 20 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life
