Eternal Arts Kung Fu is a traditional Chinese Martial Arts studio teaching MiZong LoHan Northern Kung Fu, Fu BaGua and Wu Family TaiChi and Canada.

My Jhong Law Horn (Mizong Luohan) is an external style, with distinct internal influences. It draws on many aspects of the external Northern Shaolin Long Fist style, and the internal styles T'ai Chi Ch'uan , Pa Kua Chang and Hsing I Ch'uan, with which it is often taught in modern times. It is characterized by deceptive hand movements, intricate footwork, varied kicks, and high leaps. In execution,

The kung fu tornado kick, better than Tae Kwon Do?

No, it’s not better. It’s just different. In traditional Wushu, we do a tornado kick by a motion where it looks like we’re rolling over a table, then throwing the kick up like a giant inside crescent kick in the air. The northern kung fu styles were developed with jumping and leaping because in the north they did a lot of horse riding, unlike southern kung fu, which of course, nowadays shares a lot of techniques with Northern.

if we look at this kick, we can dissect it as if someone can be attacking you from the rear, maybe on a horse or if you’re running up to a horse and you need to jump and turn off the line while still kicking back to knock the opponent off the horse. Now this is just speculation at this time because I’m not fighting anyone on a horse however, there are plenty of martial artist and athletes out there that can jump as high as someone sitting on a saddle.

A lot of jump techniques are made to address someone on a horse isn’t that neat?

Learn the application for one of the most common kung fu saber techniques called wrapping. This is a staple move and most Chinese martial arts and you can also find it modified in different arts like Hema and other non eastern arts albeit a little different

The cloud wrapping that we do also supports bracing the saver against the arm for a stronger block.

One of the most rewarding things about teaching kids isn’t watching them learn a punch or a kick.

It’s watching them realize they can do something they didn’t think they could do.

Sometimes it’s a stance they’ve been struggling with.

Sometimes it’s remembering a sequence they’ve been working on for weeks.

Sometimes it’s simply having the confidence to stand in front of the class and give it their best effort.

Those moments don’t usually happen all at once.

They happen because a student keeps showing up, keeps practicing, and keeps trying even when something is difficult.

That’s one of the biggest lessons martial arts has to offer.

Not that you’ll get everything right the first time.

But that effort, consistency, and perseverance pay off.

As an instructor, that’s the growth I enjoy seeing most.

The techniques are important.

The confidence they build along the way is even more important.

If you’ve been thinking about martial arts for your child, we’d love to have them come try a class and experience it for themselves.
