Vancouver School of Arts and Academics has been center stage since it opened in 1996 in the historic Shumway Junior High building. This small, unique school of the arts draws students in 6th- through 12th-grade from throughout the district. Students apply for admission to this magnet school, but entrance is not based solely on talent. Students at VSAA are self-motivated with a passion for the arts
