Today we celebrated Sept 25th as Dolly Day, as we couldn’t pass up a chance to celebrate the woman behind “9 to 5.” 🦋

Dolly Parton reminds us that kindness, creativity, hard work, and believing in others can make a lasting difference. Those are qualities we hope our students experience and share at school every day.

Thanks to a generous donation from Starbucks, we got to “pour a cup of ambition” for our teachers. We also handed out butterfly clips with Dolly quotes to students in the halls, sharing a little encouragement along the way!

Our theme at Alki this year is Superheroes! Our school is filled with incredible students, staff, families, and community members who each bring unique strengths and talents to Alki. Together, we make our school community stronger. It is my pleasure to introduce the Alki Staff Superheroes of the 2026–2027 school year! Alki staff were hard at work during our professional learning days on August 18 and 19! We were fortunate to have . Carol Salva join us on August 19 to deepen our learning about boosting student achievement through student-talk strategies.

Our theme this year is “Superheroes,” and we have many superheroes at Alki—including our dedicated staff, incredible students, and amazing families. We are ready to welcome our students and begin the 2026–2027 school year!
