I really like this image of what learning is really like. It's not a simple download of information, it's a back and forth and it can be a little messy as you try out something new. That learning space can be uncomfortable and developing new coordination takes time.

The first place I saw this graph was from Dr. Becky Campbell. This also so applicable to studying voice! But the more you get comfortable with The Learning Space, the more resilient you will be!

Hurray! Voice lessons for 2025-26 have started off on a great note with a boost in new students. They have great attitudes and are fun to teach! I am so blessed to be with them on their vocal journey.

I have two spots left in anyone knows anyone who wants to add the joy of singing into their life. My student range from experience adults who want to brush up on their skills to middle school singers who want to do better in the school choir. I teach ages 8 and up but am flexible on the entry point.

Meet our Voice Studio mascot Brownie!

He is a 10-week-old Cockadoodle. He has been enjoying meeting my in-person students this week. He has even been held during some vocalizing and loves it all. My students are enthusiastic about greeting him each week.

When my students meet together for our group classes it is so much fun! I told myself I would take a picture of our class today-- but being in the moment like I was I forgot.

Studying this work has been challenging and thrilling. I can't remember ever seeing all the sopranos (1st and 2nd) being asked to sing a high C! Or being asked to sing a million staccato and accents (not kidding!) It has been a good time to rethink the basics of singing and remind myself of all the good Alexander Technique training I have had that keeps it all fresh and exciting.

I am excited that I will be able to perform this famous amazing work on Saturday. If you are in the area, come check it out!
