Update on Anindo Marshall Arts Academy, formerly Abukutsa Arts Academy.

We are very close to reaching our goal of launching a brick and mortar school site in Luanda, Kenya!!
Anindo Marshall Arts Academy will provide a fully accredited academic and arts curriculum, while engaging the community in programs that will stimulate economic growth.

The land to build the school has been purchased. Thanks to a couple of AMAA Villagers.
We have secured an amazing team in Kenya:
Project Director - Jane Abukutsa
Architect - Charles Achera Misiani of Acera & Partners Architects.
Lawyer - Daniel Chitwah Chegenye of D.C. Chitwah Advocates & Commissioner of Oaths Advocates
Accountant - Kinyua Bonface of Mburu Kinyua & Associates

Hi Facebook Fam. I am planning to open a Performing Arts School in Mumias, Kenya. We are doing our 2019 Fundraising Campaign. Abukutsa Arts Academy will be a Performing Arts School to be built in Mumias, Kenya. This summer, we plan to start building a security fence, gate, landscape the property and start working on infrastructure. With your help, we will reach our goal, to insure that the work we have planned to do comes to fruition. We will start with 3 portable buildings:
1 Administration Offices, classrooms and library
2. Arts building, Dance Studios, Music Room
3. Multipurpose Room, with a stage and cafeteria
Classes will be Kindergarten and 1st Grade, to begin with.

Johnston Abukutsa was a career librarian who had a passion for education. He was the founding member of the Kenya Library Association, for which he received a posthumous recognition. He was an author of a number of books and manuscripts as well as an editor for books and conference proceedings.

Raised by a mother who did not go to school, Johnston attended Alliance High School, a prestigious institution for high performing students. He was an avid scholar and footballer. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Kings College, UK, followed by a Masters from Queens University, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He was married to Esther Khabetsa Abukutsa, together they raised eight children, on their modest salaries, all of whom they educated to adulthood. Johnston was a principled educator who, not only instilled the value of education to his children, but went beyond that to ensure that other children who had no means to education were not denied the same. He lived by the mantra “Education is the key that opens the doors of opportunity”. The legacy he has left will continue to flourish in the educational institution named in his honor, Abukutsa Arts Academy.

A Green Clean School - Solar, Wind technology, Biofuel, Boar holes for fresh water, farm, organic garden. Day and Boarding. Pre-K - High School. Academics, Arts, Sports. Mumias, Kenya, East Africa!!
