This past month, Touro OPSC board members had the privilege of attending the CME (Continuing Medical Education) by the Bay Conference in Monterey, CA. The 3 day conference featured presentations about managing chronic conditions, avoiding burnout as a resident, and integrating Osteopathic principles into practice.

Induction into OBI is an honorary recognition for politically active medical students and professional mentors who demonstrate excellence in healthcare politics.

Touro-California OPSC Board Members, Student Doctors Luan Nguyen (OMS-II) and Grant Wang (OMS-II) attended the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians of California (ACOFPCA) Conference in Anaheim, CA, on July 28-31, 2022.
Touro students were able to attend residency and student forums, hear from family medicine physicians about residency paths and career planning. Attendees also participated in hands-on labs, including ultrasound training and learning about IUD insertions.

This past week, Touro University CA faculty, students, and alumni had the privilege of representing the state of California as delegates at the American Osteopathic Association’s annual meeting of the Board of Trustees and House of Delegates in Chicago Illinois!
Our delegates reviewed and discussed resolutions proposed by various states that influence the future of healthcare in the United States!

Calling all researchers!
The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) is once again calling for research abstracts for the 2022 Osteopathic Medical Education Conference (OMED). Due to the success of the virtual poster session/competition the past few years, students once again have the opportunity to disseminate their research to a broader audience!
Abstracts must be a clinical, basic science, health services, or public health studies and fall within one of the AOA research topic areas:

Acute and Chronic Pain Management.
Impact of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) & Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)
