Today, Grover was thrilled to meet Mr. Charlie Crews, Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A on St. Augustine Road, when he made a special delivery to Pine Grove Middle School!
Grover learned that what makes Mr. Crews a great leader isn’t only that he serves great food (which he REALLY wanted to get ahold of)—it’s the way he serves people. Mr. Crews is known throughout our community for his generous spirit, his heart for others, and the relationships he builds with the people around him.
Above all, Grover saw firsthand that the greatest leaders make a lasting impact through the way they care for others. Whether supporting local organizations, investing in the community, or simply taking time to encourage those around him, his new pal leads by example every day.
While “my pleasure” is something Grover always enjoys hearing when he goes through the drive-thru, today that pleasure was truly his.
Thank you, Mr. Charlie, for taking the time to meet Grover and for the many ways you continue to invest in our community and those around you.🐾♥️🐾

Grover was pumped that PGM staff members were treated to The Mix yesterday. His ID does say “staff,” so he felt that he technically qualified…

Grover was excited to spend time with Lowndes County Commission Chairman Bill Slaughter!
During his visit, Grover learned that teamwork is at the heart of Chairman Slaughter’s leadership style. Chairman Slaughter believes working together is the foundation for success, and he credits the many individuals he works alongside for keeping Lowndes County safe, prepared, and growing.
That collaborative spirit extends beyond our county lines, too! A great example is his work with the Transportation Investment Act (TIA), the legislation that makes TSPLOST possible. This one-cent, voter-approved sales tax funds essential road, bridge, and infrastructure projects throughout the Southern Georgia Region, which includes Lowndes and 17 other counties.
Voters approved Phase 1 in 2018 and returned to the polls in 2024 to renew that investment through Phase 2. Doing so allows this vital work to continue into the next decade. And because our local economy has remained so strong, we reached the funding goal for the first phase early in 2026—an impressive two years ahead of schedule! This early success allows our region to seamlessly transition into Phase 2 and ensures critical projects move forward without any loss of momentum.
This level of success is maintained through the diligent oversight of the TIA Citizens Review Panel, which is chaired by Grover’s new pal! In this position, Chairman Slaughter works to ensure every dollar is spent exactly as promised, upholding the public trust and delivering the results our community expects.
Thank you, Chairman Slaughter, for your service, accessibility, and commitment to moving Lowndes County forward. Grover is excited to watch as our community continues to grow and thrive!

Grover loved meeting President DeAnnia Clements of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College!
He traveled with a group of PGM students to learn more about the opportunities Wiregrass provides through dual enrollment and career pathways. Partnerships like this help students earn college credit, gain real-world experience, and begin building their future before they even graduate high school.
Thank you to Wiregrass for investing in students across our community. Grover is excited for his next adventure!
