You can engineer a spacecraft flawlessly and still miss the mark if it doesn't work for the person actually operating it, how they think, how they decide, what keeps them steady under pressure.

Graduate student Sneha Gayen studies that gap between good engineering and good design for the human being who has to use it.

Join MCB GSA at Rigg’s B**r Company for “Unlocking the Secrets of Avian Immunity to Fight Zoonotic Diseases” with graduate student Madhusree Seal from the Stadtmueller Lab, Department of Biochemistry.

How does the avian immune system respond to infection? What can studying birds teach us about diseases that jump between animals and humans? And could understanding avian immunity help us better tackle zoonotic diseases? 👀

Come grab a drink and find out at our next Science on Tap!

🗓️ Sunday, August 30 · 1 to 2 PM
📍 Rigg’s B**r Company, Urbana
🔬 Co-sponsored by IGB and the Beckman Institute
