Carden Arbor View School We have been serving students in grades K-8 since 1981 and believe that providing children with a strong foundation prepares them for a lifetime of learning.

Carden Arbor View School is an independent, non-profit, non-sectarian school located in Upland, California that utilizes the Carden Method of teaching to educate the whole child with joy, growth, enthusiasm, dignity, and respect. Our rich academic curriculum includes art, music, computer science, foreign languages, life skills, physical education, and motor development, in addition to the basic core subjects. Within this weave Mae Carden’s 3 Rs: reason, respect, and responsibility. Friday night, our community gathered for our annual Fall Gala.

This year was extra special as we celebrate 45 years of providing excellent education. And as such, we incorporated some 'vintage' decor to call back to the year our school was founded.

To honor this occasion, we invited our school's founder - Mrs. Claudia Humphries – to speak on her vision and inspiration for founding the school. It was an absolute treat for our new families to hear her speak so passionately about this community.

Multiple alumni also made an appearance to speak to how their Carden education continues to impact their lives.

We are so grateful to gather as a community each year with Fall Gala. Thank you to every student, parent, alumni, and faculty member who came to support our school.

For 45 years, Carden Arbor View School has continued to grow alongside our students.

This is thanks to a dedicated community of parents, faculty, staff, and alumni who believe in creating and protecting an environment where children are safe, supported, and inspired to learn and grow.

This 45th anniversary video brings together footage from throughout our school's history — from the earliest moments of construction on our campus to today's students enjoying new playground equipment.

Across generations, one thing has remained the same: our community comes together to build, improve, volunteer, and create a place where children thrive.

From the parents who helped build our original campus to the families, staff, and alumni who continue to give their time and energy to campus projects and school events, our school continues to provide an excellent education because of the strength and dedication of our community.

Every student and every family has different plans and individualized goals for high school and beyond.

Our goal as a school and a community remains the same — preparing each student to find what success looks like for them, and make sure they are ready for whichever next step they choose.

Our Middle School Student Council elections are coming up soon, which means the campaigning has begun!

From handing out neon sunglasses with writing on the frames, to custom designed stickers, to faux money with a students face, to a receipt describing the value of your vote — our students really leaned into the creativity this year.

🐯 What is Fall Gala?🐯

Fall Gala is our annual gathering where parents, teachers, students, board members and alumni all come together to connect and celebrate our community.

It is a night full of yummy eats, connecting with new and old friends, and celebrating our students.

CONNECTION
Gala gives our families a chance to slow down, be present, and connect with other families before the busyness of the school year fully kicks in.

It also gives us a chance to invite in and get to know the new families in the community. We all know that a huge part of what makes our school special is our connection to one another. Welcoming in new members of the community is essential!

FOOD
We celebrate our diverse cultural background our families holds in the universal language — food.

Parents and staff members across cultures cook traditional meals, drinks, and desserts and serve their community members.

PERFORMANCE
All of our students have opportunities throughout our curriculum to perform. They work in their music classes to put together a performance for their families for Gala!

We hope that ALL of our families — parents, grandparents, alumni — can attend for this special evening.

Each first and last Friday of the month, our whole school — students, faculty, and staff — show up wearing matching shirts to show our CARDEN COUGAR PRIDE.

Even our mascot dresses for the occasion🐯💚💛
