Getting your Canvas course ready for students? A few quick checks can make the experience much smoother before classes begin.
Use Student View to see the course from a student’s perspective and catch missing links, hidden items, locked content, or confusing instructions.
Make sure everything is actually published — including the course, modules, and individual assignments or pages.

Keep your Course Navigation focused by hiding unused tools and directing students toward the areas they’ll use most.
Consider adding a Start Here page that explains what students should do first, how the course is organized, where assignments are located, and how to contact you.

And finally, use Modules as a roadmap. A clear weekly structure can help students understand what to do, when to do it, and where to find what they need.
