We are learning about animals on the farm this week. Ms. Jennifer told the children the story of the 3 Little pigs using flannel board characters. The children helped retell the story. Then the children used straws to blow different items. The children used the straws to be like the Big Bad Wolf.

Learning happens best through play. Art is a process. Children learn to use their fingers & develop fine motor skills by peeling the paper off of the stickers & placing the stickers on a page. They are developing eye- hand coordination as they experiment with art materials. So yes the process can be messy & each finished project looks different. The process is so wonderful! The children learn so much through the process!!
I have 3 UPK funded spots for children who will be 4 years old before October 1. Enrollment is open! Please contact me ASAP.

It's a great morning for building things together.

These are some of the things we have been doing in preschool. We may have a future mechanic one day. Elsa is enjoying the seeds from the trees. Building forts may lead to work in engineering one day.
Do you remember the author Beverly Cleary & her characters Ramona & Howie? Those characters "made bricks" at their "brick factory" by smashing them. My little ones at preschool are learning about cause & effect by pounding chalk. The gloves are evidence of keeping their hands warm while they worked.

The preschool children have been working hard to count to 10 in English & Spanish. They are also learning about patterns and counting & days of the week as we do Calendar time. They are also working on phonetic awareness through the use of Zoo-Phonics. There is a physical movement & animal to learn the sound of each letter. I love how much the children are learning!!
