Answer: Nexton Elementary!!!

Ms. Fulmer and Mr. Jashienski both share August 29th as their birthday.

Hello Explorer Families,

With rainy weather in the forecast today, we are executing our very first Rainy Day Dismissal. To keep all of our students warm, safe, and dry, dismissal procedures will look a little different today, and processes will take slightly longer than usual.

Car Riders (Big Kids)

We will use one single car rider line so all students can stay safely indoors while waiting.

Traffic along Scholar Way will be heavier than usual, so please plan for extra wait time.

Walkers

Walker pickup will move to the front entrance of the school.

Students will wait inside the foyer and will be called out as guardians arrive.

Please bring a photo ID for guardian verification.

Guardians will line up along the front sidewalk, so remember to bring an umbrella!

Bus Riders

Our covered bus awning accommodates 3 buses at a time, so we will load students in waves to keep everyone dry.

The first group of buses will depart on time. Later routes may experience a 15–30 minute delay.

Sending our deepest gratitude to Crews Subaru of Charleston! For years, the wonderful team on Rivers Avenue has been a bright light for Nexton Elementary School, uplifting our staff with breakfast, essential school supplies, and generous donations. They outdid themselves once again by granting 20 teachers $500 each to enrich their classrooms. Thank you, Crews Subaru, for constantly investing in our teachers, believing in our students, and making such a wonderful impact in our community! 🎉🍎

Get ready for a fantastic night of fun for a great cause! We’re teaming up with Dog and Duck and The DWN Pickleball Club for a Nexton Elementary Fundraiser Night on August 26th from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

A massive thank-you to our hardworking volunteers for pulling this together. We love seeing our community shine—come out and show your Nexton support!

Can you believe it's already been a week since the first day of school? It's been great to see our students and staff enjoying a great start to the school year. Superintendent Dixon even stopped by to welcome students and staff back to NES!

Get ready to jump into an incredible year! We’re kicking things off with Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, August 10th from 5:00–6:30 PM. Stop by anytime during those hours to meet your teacher, check out your classroom, and get pumped for day one!

Need to Know for August 10th:

🚗 Parking: On-campus parking will be limited. Both front and back doors will be open to help traffic flow smoothly.

📲 Homerooms: Teacher assignments go live on the PowerSchool App/Parent Portal on August 10th.

🗺️ Need Help? Staff will be on hand to guide you. (Note: Unregistered students won't have an assigned teacher yet, but are still invited to drop in for a tour!)

Our AMAZING P.T.A. is hosting an event at the school on Saturday, August 1st from 9:00am-11:00am for all K4 (CERDEP), Kindergarten, and Pre-School students zoned and/or registered for Nexton Elementary School.
