Today we were exploring concepts from the Edge, Impact, & EDC Weapons Training
(KALI) program. If you believe your attacker has the ability, opportunity, and intent to cause you great bodily harm, or you are outnumbered (Multiple Attackers), choosing to deploy a self-defense/ self-protection tool like a stick, knife, OC spray, or even a firearm maybe your only solution to help keep you safe and survive the encounter.

Self Defense Saturdays: Some more class pics of us working on our impact and sharp-edged weapons concepts. Flash lights, tactical pens, & batons are great force multipliers that can be deployed and used to protect yourself from bad people that are attacking you. When you have to escalate your response even further, anything with a sharp point or “edge” on it like a knife can be used to try to neutralize or unarm an attacker. Remember, while there are laws prohibiting the carrying of knives in many places, they still usually can be carried into more places than a gun. Today we worked on using impact tools and sharp edges tools to help keep us safe. Criminals and attackers carry weapons on them and use them on their victims. It is our belief that you too should know how to carry, deploy, and use these tools to defend yourself. A knife, stick, or baton can give you “Force Escalation” options in case you find yourself fighting against one or more attackers who are bigger, stronger, or faster than yourself.

Hey, fun time today in class. We got to work on some of our Kali/ FMA weapons based self-defense concepts. Kali/ FMA practitioners are known for their ability to fight with weapons or empty hands interchangeably and their ability to turn ordinary household items into self-protection tools if needed. If you are looking to improve your situational awareness, mental focus, coordination, or overall self protection skills, you can’t go wrong learning concepts form the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA).
