Public Guidelines:
The library's social media serves as a limited public forum; the library welcomes comments from the community and respects differences in opinion. The library is not responsible for comments made by patrons; however, we reserve the right to remove any comments or images that violate library policy, the law, or the rights of any third party. These include:
• Content that promotes discrimination or harassment based on race, creed, color, age, gender, marital status, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, ancestry, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local laws.
• Personal attacks, insults, threatening language, or obscene content.
• Potentially libelous statements.
• Plagiarized, copyrighted, or trademarked material.
• Private or personal information or requests for personal information.
• Comments and photos unrelated to the library, its mission, its activities, or what it has posted.
• Commercial promotions, spam, or political activity.
• Posts in violation of laws or library policies. Repeatedly violating the social media policy may result in the individual being banned from further commenting on the library's social media profiles. Individuals may express concerns about content that other members of the public have posted on library social media by contacting the Marketing and Communication Manager. The library will investigate those concerns but is not obligated to remove individuals' comments solely based on complaints by other individuals if the content is not in violation of these guidelines. Social media sites or account providers may have policies covering terms of service, privacy, and user behavior, which individuals may be subject to when using library accounts on these sites. The library is not responsible for the independent actions of any social media site or account provider to restrict or ban a user, restrict or remove content, or otherwise manage the site in accordance with its own internal policies.
