Most finishing sessions teach the shot.

This one teaches the moment before it.

Zone 2 gives you time to read the picture.
Zone 1 takes that time away.

Same objective: score.
But the picture keeps changing.

Drive or adjust.
Combine or continue.
Attack one header. Adjust for the next.
Then react to a one-touch finish you didn’t know was coming.

We don’t want players memorizing solutions.

We want them recognizing the problem in front of them and choosing the right one.

💾 Save for this for your next session

aerial week for our home school group 📈

For a full week we focused on dealing with the ball in the air.

First touch. Control. Volleys. Headers. Competing for aerial balls.

this was not part of our curriculum, for this term, but the players requested so we decided to adjust and give them a little bit of what they felt they needed

Touches matter. But what the player has to see, decide, adjust to, and solve matters more.

Build the technique. Then change the picture.

Thank You For The Memories Brooke Aniston Howard 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

You were an ANIMAL all summer!

Loved having you train with us and put in work at EXOS before heading back to England for the season with Everton U21s.

Go have a season, Brooke. 💙

Week Theme: Weight, Range Disguise 📈

A big part of our methodology is putting players in similar situations while constantly changing the picture around them.

We want players to see the same football problem in different ways, so they learn to find solutions instead of memorizing one answer.

We also balance the amount of pressure throughout the week. Some days are high pressure, with less time and space. Other days are lower pressure, giving players more freedom to build confidence, clean up ex*****on, and repeat actions successfully.

The goal is to gradually connect the two.

Nobody sees this part.

They see the session. The drills. The players working.

They don’t see the time spent building the environment before anyone arrives.

Where the goals go.
Where the pressure comes from.
How much space the players have.
What every piece of equipment is there to create.

The setup is part of the coaching.

A big part of what allows us to build these sessions is having the right tools and the right space.

Build the environment. Then let the players solve it.

This is why we train the picture, not just the shot.

Same side. Same body shape. Same open-hip finish.

The game changes the pressure, speed and timing. The technical solution still has to be there.

Train the pictures the game creates.

The Cruyff turn is more than moving the ball behind your leg

it’s about selling the fake.

Commit the defender to one direction, cut behind your plant foot, and explode into the space you create.

Coach Lee focuses on the details that make this move effective: timing, disguise, balance, and acceleration.

Technique matters. Deception makes the difference.
