By combining pre-employment and incumbent worker training, we enable hard-working individuals, often without fluent English or higher degrees, to obtain and succeed in well-paying hospitality positions. Congratulations to the graduates of our Intro to Hospitality, Housekeeping Pre-Apprenticeship Program!

In this program, students learned industry fundamentals, workplace professionalism, customer service, hotel operations, housekeeping techniques, safety practices, and the expectations of working in a union hotel environment.

Our spring On-Call Banquet Server Training Program wraps up next week with graduation, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students!

Through hands-on training, industry guest speakers, and expert-led workshops, participants built banquet service skills while growing in confidence, communication, and professionalism.

Congratulations to all of our graduates on their hard work and dedication! We look forward to welcoming a new cohort this fall as we continue creating pathways to hospitality careers.

Our Certified Guest Service Professional class recently toured the Omni Parker House! Students met with the Sales & Catering, Human Resources, and Guest Services teams to learn more about hotel operations and guest-facing careers. The visit brought their classroom learning to life and ended with a thoughtful Q&A session with staff. Thank you to the Omni Parker House team for hosting this inspiring experience!

Taking care of others starts with taking care of ourselves. As Local 26 members spend long hours on their feet serving guests, supporting coworkers, and keeping our hospitality industry running, prioritizing physical and mental well-being is essential.

That's why BEST was excited to host a Summer Wellness Event: Stretch Tour – Bodies in Balance. The event gave members a chance to pause, recharge, and invest in their own health through movement, mindfulness, and community.

By the end of the event, members shared that they felt more relaxed, balanced, connected, and cared for—reminding us that self-care isn't a luxury, it's an important part of staying healthy, resilient, and strong both on and off the job.

We are incredibly proud of our Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship Program graduates! Over the course of 192 hours of intensive, hands-on training, these students built the skills, confidence, and professionalism needed to succeed in a hotel kitchen environment. From culinary techniques and kitchen safety to teamwork and industry-recognized certifications, they showed dedication, perseverance, and passion every step of the way. Congratulations to all of our graduates on this outstanding achievement! Next step: a great union line cook job!

Memorable moments from our Intro to Hospitality, Housekeeping Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship graduation ceremony!
