Guitar Repair & Building - Minnesota State College Southeast Teaching guitar repair and building at Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing MN since 1974

At Minnesota State College Southeast’s Guitar Repair and Building program, we teach our students guitar repair and building as a career. Our program is designed to teach not only the skills involved, but also understanding of the instruments, their components, materials and acoustics. Successful students have the qualities of dependability, self-motivation, and the ability to sit down at a workbench and stay focused on their work, all day. Upon graduating from the program, our students have a strong foundation in the art of guitar repair and building.

We are one week from starting classes. I look forward to meeting a new class of students. Please get your tools ordered and shipped to the school. If you don’t have everything, that’s okay, but please have chisels to sharpen. We will be doing that first day.

Happening now, the annual guitar show in Red Wing Minnesota. So much great work from dedicated students again this year. This day is all about celebrating their accomplishments and how far they’ve come over this academic year. We are so proud of all of them and fortunate to be part of their journey. Here are a few more instruments coming together for the Thursday the 14th show. The performances begin at 1:00, but most of the exhibit will be set up by 12:00. The cafeteria will also be open, so come and join us for lunch and coffee, then the show!
