AEP SPOTLIGHT: Teddie Linder – TigerLily Eastern Arts
We’re excited to introduce Teddie Linder, owner & chief instructor of TigerLily Eastern Arts in Indianapolis and a new Accredited Education Provider with ESD Global!
With over 30 years of martial arts experience, Teddie has taught self-defense many times but says the ESD Global curriculum’s community-building approach is exactly what’s needed right now. “The accessibility is phenomenal, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”
TigerLily has hosted two ESD workshops and is partnering with organizations in property management, youth services, the business community, and the Indy Rainbow Chamber. Classes run every other month with plans to expand.

Why Empowerment Self Defense?
Studies have shown that the curriculum (taught by many and diverse instructors and organizations) a marked decrease in sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults, an overall increase in confidence in daily life (not just violence prevention.

I have personally taught a version – but incomplete – this concept. Since becoming certified as a Level 1 instructor by ESD Global, I have adopted this curriculum, which is easily accessible by anyone – and is especially suited for the non-martial artist.
Using skill building exercises based on de-escalation, boundary setting skills, this two hour class will give you confidence and tangible skills to take into your daily life.

Tigerlily will be presenting this workshop with a variety of content so this will be an ongoing series to introduce new students and allow repeat students to build their knowledge and skills.

Falling & Groundfighting self-defense class will be happening this Friday! Here are the details:

Falling & Groundfighting - how to fall safely and without injury; how to protect yourself on the ground and get back up. Know your options, if you do get put on the ground and how to hold off an attacker.
This class series covers an array of situational topics, designed to make you aware of violations--of space, of body, of self. Then we learn how to both gently - and not so gently - defend our boundaries and our safety. Each class has a fee of $20. Registration is required - please private message us or click the included link to register.
