SAIC Fall 2025 and Winter Graduated Loan Borrowers - A reminder that if you borrowed Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, there is a grace period of 6 months after the end of your last semester that you were at least half-time status, and then you being repayment. That would be July for Fall graduate and August for Spring graduates. Be sure and created a login with your loan service which you can find at www.StudentAid.gov and use our free loan management system with our partner, Student Connections at www.My.StudentConnections.com . Urgent 2026-27 FAFSA Reminder!

SAIC Students - To ensure your financial aid is processed smoothly, we recommend submitting your FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible, and no later than Thursday, April 23, 2026 if you have not already. The Department of Education has scheduled processing updates after that date that may cause delays in finalizing your eligibility, and SAIC wants to make sure your financial aid office is ready on time.

Illinois residents: Yesterday afternoon, the MAP Grant deadline of Thursday, April 23, 2026 was announced by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, ISAC. If your 2026-27 FAFSA is not submitted by then, you will not be considered for the grant, which is worth over $8,000 next year. SAIC cannot provide supplemental financial aid to those who miss the deadline.

You should always be applying for outside scholarships through the student's academic career, so be sure to check out SAIC's Outside Scholarship page at saic.edu/outsidescholarships and finally, be sure to use our free financial literacy education site CashCourse to make sure you are money smart in budgeting, credit scores, etc at saic.edu/financialliteracy!

SAIC Students - a reminder that if you are eligible and have not submitted your 2026-27 FAFSA and will be enrolled in the summer 2026 through spring 2027 semesters next year, you should complete and submit right away.
