When we need a dependable mule in any situation, Jeb always steps up.

This bay mule was gifted to us by a retired Marine rebuilding after flooding in New Bern, North Carolina. He later became an important part of our Hurricane Helene relief efforts and most recently supported search operations in West Virginia.

As a mounted SAR mule, Jeb helped us search where needed. Calm, sure-footed, and willing, he consistently carries his rider safely and handles every challenge with ease.

Whether leading a pack string, hauling supplies, or assisting in searches, we’re grateful to have a mule we can trust when it matters most.

Good job, Jeb....you continue to prove just how special you are. ❤️

**UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who prayed and supported the search efforts. Sadly, the woman who was missing in West Virginia has been recovered, and her family has been notified.

This is a heartbreaking outcome, and we ask that you continue lifting her loved ones in prayer. May God surround them all with comfort, peace, and strength in the difficult days ahead.**

We are asking our Mission Mules family to please pray.

Our mules are currently on the ground in northern West Virginia assisting in the search for a woman swept away by high waters. We also have K9 Search & Rescue Services out with Water HRD dogs and their handlers working alongside SAR crews on the river.

Please pray for God to guide every step, hoof, and paw; for the safety of all animals, handlers, and search-and-rescue personnel; and for answers to be found. Please also pray for peace, strength, and comfort for her family and friends as they wait.

Lord, guide their paths and bring her home. 🙏

URGENT REQUEST FOR PRAYERS and TRAINED SEARCH VOLUNTEERS NEAR WEST VIRGINIA

Mission Mules is coordinating additional resources to assist with an active search in West Virginia following the recent flooding along the South Branch of the Potomac River.

A woman was swept away in the floodwaters yesterday along with her two children. The two children have since been located, but the search continues for their mother. Search crews have been working since approximately 3:00 p.m. yesterday, and additional resources are urgently needed to support the ongoing effort.

We are currently seeking trained volunteers and organized search groups who are willing and able to assist with searching along the riverbanks and surrounding areas.

If you are part of a search-and-rescue organization or trained volunteer group and can respond, please reach out to Mission Mules as soon as possible. We are coordinating these additional requested resources with those on the ground.

This is a difficult and ongoing search, and every qualified resource that can safely contribute may make a difference.

Mission Mules remains actively engaged following the recent flooding, working to understand where help is needed and how we can best serve affected communities.

We have been speaking directly with local officials, emergency management teams, residents, and business owners across Wayne, Franklin, and Fayette counties. Every conversation helps us build a clearer picture of what families and communities are facing, and where needs may still be going unmet.

Mission Mules volunteer, Mark Boehm, is doing an amazing job leading our Rapid Assessment efforts on the ground, traveling throughout the impacted areas, checking conditions, listening to residents, and gathering the information needed to help guide the next steps in response and recovery.

We are continuing to listen, assess, and stand ready to help. If you know of an unmet need in one of these communities, please contact Mission Mules.

Most importantly, please join us in praying for everyone affected, along with the first responders, local leaders, and volunteers working through the recovery.

Last summer’s Fourth of July flooding in the Texas Hill Country put every member of the Mission Mules team to work....including Lil' Wayne. 🇺🇸🐴

While search and rescue operations were still heavy, chainsaw crews were working through brutal heat and tough terrain to cut paths and open access. One of the biggest needs? Keeping those crews hydrated and carrying their chainsaw supplies.

Lil' Wayne went to work...packing cold water, electrolytes, and supplies so those chainsaw crews could stay focused on the job in front of them.

This is an important part of what Mission Mules does. Sometimes our job isn’t to lead the response, it’s to support the other organizations and crews doing critical work and help them keep moving.

And Lil Wayne? Fearless. Careful. Sure-footed. Willing to go wherever he was needed through some incredibly tough Texas terrain.

He was an absolute ROCKSTAR. ⭐️

We’re Watching Indiana and Ready to Respond

Mission Mules has been in contact with local emergency management officials in and around Wayne County Indiana, as communities continue to deal with the devastating effects of widespread flooding and prepare for additional severe weather.
We are closely monitoring conditions and are prepared to respond based on the needs on the ground. Our teams can provide remote access, transportation, logistics, supply delivery, and other field support where conventional resources may be limited or unable to reach.
We are ready to come alongside local agencies and communities wherever our capabilities can make a difference.
If you are aware of a specific area, community, or need that should be on our radar, please reach out to us. We want to make sure we are prepared to respond where we can be most useful.
