More big weekends for Wisconsin Judo!

Congrats to everyone from Wahadachi Judo Club!

Big weekend for Madison Judo!

First, a big congratulations to our seven competitors at the West Bend Judo State Championships! It was great to have such a large representation at this event. Thank you to Coach Mike for coaching and refereeing!

Second, I was lucky enough to visit our friends at Kokushi Midwest Judo in Champaign, IL for a weekend with the legendary Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki. I was told by Kashiwazaki Sensei I had “the best” hikikomi gaeshi and I was lucky enough to receive two “thumbs up” on my tomoe nage.

Third, while visiting Kokushi Midwest, former student Joe C. was showing off his recently awarded Shodan! Congratulations Joe! We hope you can come visit us soon.

Congratulations to everyone and we hope to continue this success moving forward!

⚠️ Weather Update - MMSD and MSCR activities after 6 p.m. cancelled today, Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Due to anticipated storms and their unpredictability, and with the safety of our students and staff firmly in mind, all MMSD programming scheduled for 6 p.m. and later is cancelled. This includes MSCR community programs, external facility rentals, and athletic events and practices. In addition, MSCR middle school afterschool programs are canceled.

We are making this call now to provide families as much notice as possible, with the best information available to us at this time.

Ian and Jordan attended the Tohkon Kata clinic this past weekend to brush up on their Nage-no-kata and learn some of the Koshiki-no-kata. It was a great experience and we want to thank Tohkon Dojo for hosting us and Sensei Eiko Sheperd for sharing her knowledge and experience.

For the Holidays, we will have an adjusted schedule. Please note the following changes:

December 23rd-- Regular Class

December 25th-- No Class

December 28th-- Regular Class

December 30th-- Regular Class

January 1st-- No Class

Foundations Jiu Jitsu will be having an open mat on both December 25th and 26th at 10:00am-12:00pm and Madison Judo student are welcome for those sessions.
