During the 2026 General Assembly session, Senate Bill 536 (SB 536) was transformed into a bill to significantly increase the medical malpractice cap in Virginia. As written, the bill will raise the cap from $2.75 million to $6 million.

Insufficient among US high school students increased from 2007 to 2023, with the rise driven largely by more adolescents reporting very short sleep durations of ≤5 hours per night.
The trend was observed across all demographic and behavioral risk subgroups, including those without behavioral health risks such as electronic media use or substance use.
