Our fifth graders are engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and excited to learn more about the Mass and their Catholic faith. This morning, an old HNPS tradition returned—singing together at Morning Assembly! A big thank-you to Dr. Bob for bringing music back to our mornings. The entire school joined in, and the walls were ringing with song!

Our second graders had some musical fun of their own, learning about the legendary Robin Hood through story, and song. They even danced their way through “Do-Re-Mi”! 🎵

What a wonderful way to learn, sing, and start the day!

Our sixth graders are starting to look ahead! Today, students had their first opportunity to explore their middle and high school options as representatives from Catholic Memorial and Montrose visited Holy Name to share what each school has to offer.
It was a great way for our students to learn, ask questions, and begin thinking about what comes next. A big thank-you to both schools for an informative visit—and for the great swag, too! Our Eagles are ready to spread their wings! 🦅

🍂Happy First Days of Autumn! 🍂 What better way to welcome the season than with poetry? Our sixth grade ELA students in Mr. Gordon’s class have been learning, studying, and memorizing Trees by Joyce Kilmer. Here they are—6B—reciting it for your enjoyment!
Throughout the year, students in Mr. Gordon’s class memorize and recite key pieces of literature, poetry, the Preamble, The Night Before Christmas, and more. It’s a wonderful way to appreciate great writing while practicing the art of memorization, recitation, and public speaking.

Their role is about more than safety — it’s about kindness, leadership, and caring for others. Rain or shine, they’re ready to help making sure students are lining up safely and ready for the school day!

🎨Painting with Purpose! 🌈 HNPS is proud to join schools and communities across the country in a special service project for Maddy, a little girl in Kansas who has been very sick and in and out of the hospital. She has asked to have a beautiful, colorful rock garden.

In art class our students are each painting a rock to help create a rock garden for Maddy to enjoy when she comes home. Flowers, rainbows, animals, food, and so much more are making their way onto the rocks!

Mrs. Richards will pack them up and send them to Kansas. Creativity, kindness, and service all in one beautiful project!❤️

¡Hola! Busy learning in Spanish class! Mrs. Lopez and her students are off to a great start. With Hispanic Heritage Month beginning and continuing through mid-October, students will explore lots of interesting topics, traditions, and culture throughout the coming weeks.

The class looks ready to learn, and Mrs. Lopez is excited for a wonderful school year ahead!
