Photos from Clay County Adult & Community Education's post 06/18/2026

Learning looked a little different in one of our GED classrooms this week as students put probability and statistics to the test through a friendly game of Rock, Paper, Statistics!

Students collected data, calculated experimental probability, analyzed outcomes, and made predictions based on real results. What started as a simple game became a hands-on math lesson that brought concepts to life.

The best part? One new student, who had been hesitant about taking this next step in his education, shared this on his way out: "This class is going to be more entertaining than any of my old schools."

At Clay County Adult & Community Education (ACE), we're building confidence, creating connections, and showing students that learning can be both meaningful and enjoyable.

🚌 CCDS 2026-2027 BUS REGISTRATION TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE 🚌

Clay County families, are you working on registering your student for bus transportation for the upcoming school year? Remember, all students must be registered by JULY 17, 2026! We know some families have run into a few technical hiccups while filling out the Transportation Opt-In Form, so we’ve put together a quick guide to help you resolve the two most common issues:

πŸ›‘ Is your form greyed out? Your student might not be linked yet!
If you can't click the form, it usually means your student hasn't been added to your portal account. To fix this, follow these steps:
1️⃣ Head directly to πŸ’» sdcc.mybusplanner.com and log in to your Parent Portal account.
2️⃣ Select β€œAdd Student”.
3️⃣ Enter your student’s information EXACTLY as it appears in official school records (you will need their Student ID, birth date, street number, and correct school).
4️⃣ Click β€œAdd Student”.
5️⃣ Once successfully linked, your student will appear in your account! Now, go to β€œOnline Forms & Requests” and select the 2026–2027 Student Transportation Opt-In Form.
✨ The form will auto-fill your student’s information for you! Just review it for accuracy, hit Submit, and look for a confirmation message at the top of the page so you know it went through successfully.

πŸ”’ Locked out of your account?
To protect student security, entering incorrect information multiple times will automatically lock your account for 24 hours. If this happens, you have two options:

Option A: Wait 24 hours before attempting to log in and add your student again.

Option B (Fast Track): Email us at [email protected] with the email address you used to sign up and your student's ID number, and our team can manually override the lock for you!

πŸ“… What’s next?
Once you are registered, official bus routes will be made available around the 3rd week of July via the Chipmunk app.

πŸ“ž Still need help? We’re here for you!
If you are still experiencing issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Clay County District Schools Transportation Office directly:

🌟 ACE Student of the Month: Chandler B. 🌟

If resilience had a face, it might look a lot like Chandler B.

After being away from the classroom since seventh grade, Chandler made the courageous decision to return to school and pursue his GED. Through hard work, determination, and a commitment to showing up every day, he continues to prove that it's never too late to invest in your future.

A true adventurer at heart, Chandler loves the outdoors, working on cars, and exploring new challenges. His unique life experiences, including working as a fugitive recovery agent and later serving as a general manager, helped shape the discipline and leadership skills he brings to the classroom today.

One of Chandler's favorite subjects is math because every solved problem reminds him of what he's capable of achieving. His advice to others is simple yet powerful: "Don't talk down to yourself. Just know you can do it no matter what."

After earning his GED, Chandler hopes to celebrate with a backpacking trip through the Great Smoky Mountains before pursuing his dream of attending pilot school.

Congratulations, Chandler, on being selected as our Student of the Month! Your perseverance, growth, and positive attitude inspire everyone around you.

Your Community. Your Family. Your Future.
