Never Forget Your First Coach

Before you learned powerful punches, perfect techniques, or earned your first belt, someone stood beside you and showed you where to begin.

Your first coach may have been a karate master, a parent, a grandparent, or a teacher who believed in you before you believed in yourself. They patiently taught you how to make a proper fist, throw your first straight punch, stand with confidence, and tie your own belt.

Those little lessons were never just about karate. They were about discipline, patience, humility, and respect.

A true teacher does more than train the body. They shape character, build confidence, and plant the seeds of wisdom that grow throughout a lifetime. Every black belt begins as a beginner, and every great martial artist once needed someone to guide their first steps.

As time passes, techniques may improve, belts may change, and achievements may grow. But the people who helped us begin should never be forgotten.

If you are fortunate enough to have learned from a great teacher, honor their lessons. If you are now teaching the next generation, pass on the same patience and kindness that someone once gave you.

Because the greatest legacy of a martial artist is not simply how hard they can strike, but how much wisdom, respect, and goodness they leave behind.

Never forget your first coach. Remember your roots. Respect the hands that guided you.

A true warrior never forgets where the journey began.
