BOBCATS ON THE RUN - 5K Run

Come support our incredible 2nd–5th grade girls as they cross the finish line with pride and power. Mark your calendars! The race will be Saturday, May 17th at 9:30am at the Lake Estes Marina.

We’re on a mission to make this the biggest and best race yet—and we need the community's help to make it happen! Our goal is 100+ attendees, and with your support, we know we can get there! Please pass it along to friends, family, the community, and anyone who loves supporting our awesome youth. Anyone can run alongside the girls! Let’s pack the course with cheers and high-fives! There will also be a food truck (food for purchase) after the race along with music and yard games!

A special thanks to the Estes Park Education Foundation for providing a grant to support this fun event!

What Has Kindergarten Been Up To?

Bees and Plants and Worms, oh my!

The kindergarten classes have been exploring their essential question: How can we, as ecologists, help the bees survive by planting the plants they need to thrive? They have been busy learning all about how plants grow and how worms help make the soil soft so roots can grow down. They have been growing plants in the classroom and now observing and measuring the worms. They are working hard to grow plants for our pollinator garden to support our Estes Park Elementary bee colony.

Yesterday all of the kindergarten classes visited the Town of Estes Park's Greenhouse. Here they were able to have a hands-on experience of how our town greenhouse works and create seed balls to plant at home.

Do you know what our 4th graders have been up to? ~ 4th Grade Engineering Brightness

4th Grade is finishing up Engineering brightness in Mrs. G's Computer Science class. Engineering Brightness is a philanthropic project through which students learn basic circuitry and soldering skills to create solar rechargeable lanterns. Students collaborate to create a lantern, and the Engineering Brightness Organization works to send them to light-poverty communities around the world. Special thank you to Otterbox and their Otter Cares program for helping to fund this project!

Thank you to Polly Greenblatt, Nick Gooch, and Jen Maley who help organize and make this program, which supports global awareness, happen each year!!
